Description
Woven Electronics Controlled Impedance Cable has excellent EMI emissions and susceptibility characteristics without additional shielding
Features:
- Because of the sinusoidal weave pattern that controls the signal and ground wire paths, no lines are ever parallel.
- In addition each signal (single ended) or signal pair (differential/balanced line) has dual grounds adjacent. These grounds are bussed together at each end of the assembly, thereby creating a ground-plane in which the signals operate.
- Whether or not to install additional shielding is the option of the cable designer. A good rule of thumb is that the inherent shielding effectiveness of the Woven Cl cable for rise times of 750 picoseconds or less is ~-30dB without additional shielding. Where the rise times are faster, and/or the shielding requirements are more stringent, additional shielding is available.
- Woven Electronics typically uses a high-draw aluminum shield integrated into a rugged jacket that allows the shield to "cigarette wrap" around the cable
